#hardcover2025 submission page and briefing

#hardcover2025 Project submission page

In the spirit of protesting against censorship on social media, we will again gather over 100 artists and collect a plethora of erotic art. With #hardcover2025, it will be the same as with #hardcover2024, and we include artistic nudity together with explicit depictions. The main thing here is that you have fun, feel safe and comfortable exploring, and that we end up with a great book because of that :)

The topic: RETRO

This year's topic is retro. Your work must reflect that topic in some way. The definition would be "bringing back something that used to be in style," and that can look different in each case.

We keep the topic pretty generalized on purpose, as we want to give you all some wiggle room. For any unclarity or questions, feel free to reach out through Discord (link below at "Other Info"), and we will gladly help. We will also do early reviews of your piece if you feel unsure.

Examples of retro: pin-up, hippies, 80s darkwave, 20s flapper style, mafioso, art nouveau, golden age of advertising, vintage horror posters, ...just a lot of options from music, movies, toys, the culinary world, and the sky is not even the limit :)

What we’ll need from you

  1. One or two artworks (do not send multiple images to choose from); each artist can have two pages to fill (optional)
  2. If you have two separate submissions, please upload them separately
  3. JPG format, 300dpi,
    Vertical A4: (297 x 210 mm | 11.7 x 8.3 inches) + 3 mm all-around bleed, RGB
    Horizontal: THIS IS NOT A3! (260 x 395 mm | 10.2 x 15.5 inches) + 3 mm all-around bleed, RGB.
!Remember that the double spread has a fold right in the middle; consider that in your composition!
  4. We accept digital and traditional 2D and 3D art, including photography
  5. Fill in the details of the submission form
  6. If you have them, you are welcome to include sketches and WIP images through the uploader.
  7. NEW! Upload extra files for the Gold Edition. This can be erotic art previously seen and published that doesn't have to be related to the topic of the book. They will be part of the bigger Gold Edition if you are picked as one of the artists for the book. Please ensure it is still not fanart and that you have the right to publish it.

Deadline

Submit your work before the 6th of May 2025 in your time zone.
Please manage your time accordingly if you plan to be in this book.
Please use the form below.

Do not!

  1. Please do not send us artwork depicting non-consent, underage characters, or gore, not even suggestive.
  2. Please do not send us fanart. Don't refer to IPs and characters you don't own.
  3. Don’t join this book if your personal views as a person and artist marginalize other fellow humans. We have no space for homophobes, sexists, racists, xenophobes, or any kind of prejudiced individuals and their bigoted ideas. The book's content will be diverse, and this is the only way it should be.
  4. Please don’t send us artwork that has been published anywhere else. It can be old work, but it still has to be unseen material. If the contrary is found out along the way, it will be pulled from the publication. If you want to post about your contribution on social media, do not share it unless it is cropped to only show 25% of it as a preview. We believe that before publication, the content should be exclusive, and whatever is fully shared before publication will be curated by the book's creators for promotion. That being said, PLEASE promote your participation; the book's quality depends on its visibility!
  5. Complete or partial, we don't care: Absolutely no AI imagery is allowed in the book!
